Malayalam actor Leena Maria Paul has told the police she turned an accomplice of Sukesh Chandrasekar as he offered her a lavish lifestyle.
The 25-year-old actor however said she had no knowledge about the money Sukesh had amassed by cheating persons. Leena was arrested by the Chennai police in Delhi recently. Her boyfriend Sukesh, allegedly involved in the Rs. 19-crore bank fraud case, gave the police the slip. He is also being tracked by the Bangalore police in connection with over 10 cheating cases.
Leena was taken into police custody for two days and was remanded to judicial custody on Thursday.
Sukesh has allegedly deceived a number of businessmen in and around Bangalore by posing as an IAS officer from Karnataka and had cheated a bank in Ambattur and a businessman in Selaiyur.
