The police have arrested seven persons including actor Bhuvaneshwari on Tuesday for attacking a car driver and police personnel and damaging a police vehicle at a drive-in theatre on the East Coast Road on Sunday.
According to police, on Sunday an argument broke out between a visitor to drive-in, Kumar and the actor and her friend Damodaran Krishnan.
Following the arrival of the police, the advocate called for his aides. The men then attacked Kumar as well as the policemen. Head constable Bhaskar sustained injuries on his face and the patrol vehicle was also damaged.
The Neelankarai police registered a case and arrested Damodaran Krishnan, Bhuvaneshwari and five of their henchmen.
