Action likely against 30 students

As a fallout of the violent incidents on the campus of Vel's University recently, 30 students may be dismissed or suspended for their roles in the events.

Ishari K. Ganesh, Chancellor, Vel's University, said a disciplinary committee led by Vice-Chancellor S. Ramachandran had gone through the evidence.

Following their deliberations, it had been decided to issue show cause notices to 15 students asking why they should not be dismissed and 15 students will receive notices as to why they should not be suspended from the institution, Mr. Ishari K Ganesh said.
