An Assistant Commissioner of Police was injured when a call taxi hit his two-wheeler on Santhome High Road on Saturday.

When Assistant Commissioner Sundaramurthy (58), attached to the Home Guards, was returning home, the call taxi that was alleged being driven rashly rammed his bike. He sustained injuries all over the body.

His vehicle was also damaged. Police personnel rushed him to the Government General Hospital, Royapettah. He sustained fractures on right leg and fingers but is out of danger, doctors said.

The call taxi driver, Senthil, was arrested. A case has been registered.
