August 25, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:22 am IST - CHENNAI:

A man was arrested on charges of being involved in a Rs 1.69-crore land cheating case on Tuesday. The accused, identified as Srinivasulu (47), was nabbed by a special team in Ambattur.

Srinivasulu, along with Dayalan (61) and Krishnamurthy (33), was accused of cheating Arul, the manager of Goa Oceanarium Private Ltd., in 2015. The trio collected Rs. 1.69 crore from Arul after promising to buy 8.11 acres of land in Ambattur for the company.

Since there was no progress regarding the deal, Arul lodged a complaint. Special teams formed for the purpose arrested Dayalan and Krishnamurthy last August itself.
