Aavin goes ‘pro’ for non-card buyers

Aavin recently launched AavinPro, a new variety of milk with 3.5 per cent fat and 10 per cent solids that are not fat.

Hundred ml of AavinPro will have 3.8 per cent of protein, 5.4 per cent of carbohydrate and 0.8 per cent of other minerals and the energy value would be 68 kcal.

Launching the product, minister for dairy development V. Moorthy said it was targeted at retail consumers, catering services, hotels, eateries and other bulk buyers.

Initially, 10,000 litres of this product would be made available in the city every day.

Aavin offers four other varieties of milk — Nice (blue packet) toned milk with 3 per cent fat and 8.5 per cent SNF, Green Magic (green packet) standardised 4.5 per cent fat and 8.5 per cent SNF, Premium (orange packet) full cream milk with 6 per cent fat and 9 per cent SNF and the double toned Diet milk (magenta packet) that has 1.5 per cent fat and 9 per cent SNF.

The Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Ltd. supplies 11 lakh litres of milk a day of which 5.57 lakh litres is Nice, 3.7 lakh litres Green Magic, 1 lakh litres Premium, and 5,000 litres Diet milk. Apart from this, 45,000 litres of standardised milk is sold through automated bulk-vending machines.
