Contemplative and reflective, the 45-odd abstract and semi-abstract paintings by Tania Thomas which are on display at Vinnyasa Premier Art Galery, trace her journey as an artist.

“I specialised in textile design, and fabric and weaves have had a definite influence on me. I moved from realistic to semi-abstract to abstract,” said the young artist who has completed her masters in fine arts from Stella Maris College and has been part of group shows.

“These are a collection of paintings I have worked on for the past two-and-a-half years and thus the name ‘Evolved’,” she said, about the acrylic and mixed media paintings.

With a palette that has predominantly ochre, red, white, deep green and yellow, she has contained in some of her frames both the definite and the unrestrained.

The exhibition will go on till November 30.
