Governor K. Rosaiah presented the Mayan Awards 2013, instituted by Vista India Communications, to 25 persons from the healthcare and construction industries at a function held in the city on Sunday.
The governor also launched the book ‘My Doctors Directory’, which contains a list of doctors, hospitals and their contact numbers in and around Chennai.
The book was brought out by Vista India Communications, which among other things also publishes the magazines ‘Mayan Kattumana Ulagam’ (in Tamil) and ‘Health and Fashion’.
D. Shantharam, vice-chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, who received the first copy of the book, said the common man often found it difficult to go to the right hospital or doctor, and such a directory would be of immense help.
N. Ramachandran, vice-chancellor of Periyar Maniammai University in Thanjavur and P. Saravanan, founder of Saravana Multispecialty Hospitals Pvt. Ltd also participated.
