A must-visit event for not just prospective car buyers but also for patrons of vintage models, The Hindu Auto Expo, powered by SBI Car Loan, will draw to a close on Sunday evening. This edition of the three-day expo features some of the globally renowned car and bike brands, as well as a display of fine vintage cars and car images.

With a car to suit every buyer, the displays range from the world's cheapest car, Nano, to some of the most luxurious four wheelers that cost upwards of a crore rupees. Showcased at the expo in Chennai Trade Centre Nandambakkam are cars from India and several other countries, including Germany, Japan, America and Korea.

Presenting the best of their models are brands like Porsche, Audi, BMW, Toyota, Volkswagen, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Skoda, Hyosung, Nissan, Ford and Honda.

Some of the models from the various participating automobile manufacturers includes Aria and Vista Zx by Tata Motors, A6 and Q5 by Audi, Liva Hatch VX and Etios Sedan VX by Toyota, Jetta and Polo by Volkswagen, I10 Newgen Magna and Eon Sports by Hyundai, Laura and Fabia by Skoda, Micra and Sunny by Nissan, New Fiesta and Figo Titanium by Ford, Fluence and Koleos by Renault, X3 and GT by BMW, and Brio and City VMT by Honda.

Hyosung has bike models like GT 650 N, GT 650 R and ST 7 at the expo. There are also stalls dedicated to auto accessories.

Vintage models

Vintage car models like the Austin Chummy 1926, the Rover 1947, the Morris Minor 1951and Fiat Topolino 1952 among many others have been brought to the expo with the support of the Madras Heritage Motoring Club. The images at the special gallery have been showcased by The Hindu Archives.
