A nascent talent then, 16-year-old Gauthami Tadimalla, waited for her first shot, surrounded by ten reflectors. And, when the director shouted ‘action,’ she passed out.
“I just could not take the heat. Then, I was told that some of the most successful careers have had inauspicious beginnings; so, I held on to that thought in my mind and went ahead,” said Ms. Gauthami at TEDx Chennai 2012 on Sunday at Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao concert hall.
‘Find your path’
“Be who you need to be, set your goals, find your path, do it your way and be true to yourself,” was her advice as she shared stories of her humble yet pampered upbringing, hectic yet satisfying career and how she braved cancer.
She emphasised the fact that one of the most important things is to live life to the fullest with responsibility. TEDx saw talks by the world’s first Russian-speaking motivational speaker Mykola Latansky, artist Seema Kohli, life designer Puja Gupta and humourist-songwriter-educator Jana Stanfield and many others.
Stars and ambassadors of TEDx including psychologist Mini Rao, model Shvetha Jaishankar and restaurateur Vipin Sachdev were among those felicitated.
