The 11th edition of Kurukshetra, the technical festival of Anna University, to be held from Feb 15 to 18, will feature indigenous low-cost products. Some of the gadgets have been made by teams of students from various departments.

Dean of College of Engineering P. Narayanasamy said the theme for this year was combating climate change. The proceeds from the event would go to educating underprivileged children. The event, which is expected to have around 7,000 to 8,000 students from across the country, will feature over 30 events, 121 student projects and eight workshops. Mr. Narayanasamy said the University had sanctioned ₹5 lakh for the event. The money would be used as seed money to enable students to do their projects.

Registrar S. Ganesan said the college promoted entrepreneurship and training for women. On Wednesday, the officials threw open an exhibition of the products the students had designed. One team of students had developed a low-cost BP apparatus that could give readings better than the existing digital equipment in the market while another had come up with a pet bottle crusher that could be installed in public spaces.
