SBI launches combo Metro cards

February 02, 2017 01:00 am | Updated 01:00 am IST - CHENNAI:

The State Bank of India has launched a combo card for commuters of Chennai Metro Rail that acts as a debit card and a Metro Transit Card. Chairman of SBI Arundhati Bhattacharya inaugurated the service early this week. The Metro transit card acts as an access card at the Metro stations and also as a standard shopping-cum-ATM debit card.

The card is also available in a credit card variant. When the combo card is used at the entry gate, the commuter is allowed inside the station, and when the combo card is used on completion of travel at the exit gate of the destination station, the travel fare will be deducted.
