Her parents had enrolled her for coaching in swimming at a private pool near the J.J.Nagar police station where a professional coach trains students.

J.J. Nagar police inspector K. Murugesan conducted an investigation and sent the body to the Government Kilpauk Hospital for post-mortem.

A case of unnatural death has been registered.

No negligence was found on the part of the pool owner, the police said.
