7 walkie-talkies missing

April 15, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - CHENNAI:

The police are on the look out for miscreants who allegedly took away seven walkie-talkies used by the traffic policemen attached to the Teynampet police station on Monday.

The instruments were kept for charging in a locked room inside the Teynampet police station on Anna Salai.

When the policemen returned for duty on Tuesday morning they found the lock broken open and the walkie-talkies missing.

A complaint was filed with Teynampet police. Police sources suspect insiders job in this as there was very little chance for others to reach the safe room passing the security cordon. A team under Joint Commissioner of Police has been probing the incident.
