45-year-old man jumps before train, killed

A passenger who was waiting on platform reportedly jumped before a speeding EMU train at Tambaram station on Sunday.

Government Railway Police sources said M Jayakumar (45), a resident of Madambakkam was found loitering on platform number 1 and jumped before the Tirumalpur-Chennai Beach train when it commenced its journey. Police sent the body for post mortem at Government Hospital at Chromepet.

The State’s health helpline 104 provides counselling for people in distress.
