Choolaimedu police said the burglary took place around 11 a.m. at the residence of Radhakrishnan, a retired employee of a hospital in Egmore, when he and his wife were not at home.

Radhakrishnan and wife returned around 4 p.m. to find the main door of their flat broken. The house had been ransacked and gold jewellery kept in a cupboard was missing.
