3 held for murder

Three months after a man from Malaysia was found dead near Yercaud , the CB-CID of the State police has arrested three persons for allegedly killing him over financial transactions.

The Neelangarai Police had registered a case in December last after a woman from Malaysia filed a complaint through email that her husband Selvavinayagam was missing. Meanwhile, another case was registered after an unidentified man was found dead on Yercaud-Kuppanur Road on December 29 last, a release said. During the probe, the agency found that the dead man was Selvavinayagam, it said.

Investigation revealed that Selvavinayagam went to Salem along with Rajendran, proprietor of a hotel on ECR and his relatives Lakshmanan and Karunanithi on December 21 last.
