The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) on Friday announced resumption of the two-hour load shedding schedule for the city, starting Monday (December 2).

In a release to the media, the agency released an exhaustive list of the schedule that will be implemented across the city in two-hour batches between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The two-hour power cut returns to Chennai after a period of four months.

Load shedding, which was in effect from April 2011 to July 2013, was called off this August when power scenario improved because of the gains from wind energy.

Load shedding was announced in April 2011, when it was effected in one-hour slots initially. It was increased to two hours in February 2012 and reduced to an hour by June 2012.
