28 of 65 medical seats in NRI quota filled in counselling

The second phase of single window counselling for PG medical seats began on Thursday. Counselling for seats in the non-resident Indian category in deemed universities and self-financing colleges were taken up first.

Of the 50 seats in deemed universities under the NRI category, 20 were filled.

In the self-financing management category, of the 15 seats, eight were filled. The remaining seats were added to the general quota.

Selection Committee Secretary G. Selvarajan said a total of 600 candidates were called for counselling on Thursday and 92 had attended. As many as 79 candidates got seats while 13 candidates have been wait listed.

Counselling for seats in deemed universities would continue for the next two days, Dr. Selvarajan said.

Meanwhile, the online registration for MDS courses commenced on Thursday.

Last date for MDS course

The last date for submission of filled in application forms is May 22 and counselling will be held on May 28.
