December 26, 2014 08:12 am | Updated 08:12 am IST - CHENNAI:

The police are interrogating two suspects in connection with the armed robbery of a woman in Thoraipakkam last week.

The police said the suspects were tracked following an extensive search by special crime teams. On Friday, the victim, a 39-year-old school teacher, was threatened at knife-point and robbed of her gold jewellery while she was returning to her home in MCN Nagar after work. The incident, a video of which was captured on mobile phone by a resident, caused outrage as the incident took place in broad daylight. The footage shows a few men passing by the spot even as the suspect was holding a knife to the victim’s neck. The suspects had intercepted the woman by ramming their motorcycle into her scooter, knocking her down.
