19 suburban trains cancelled

No suburban train will run on the slow line between Chennai Central and Pattabiram for 12 hours on June 6 from midnight till noon to facilitate construction of road under bridge at Villivakkam.

However, trains will be run on the fast line with stoppages at Basin Bridge, Perambur, Perambur Carriage Works, Perambur Loco Works, Villivakkam, Ambattur and Avadi in the down direction (Chennai Central – Pattabiram) and Avadi, Villivakkam, Perambur and Basin Bridge in the up (Pattabiram – Chennai Central) direction, according to a release from Southern Railway.

The Southern Railway has cancelled 19 trains leaving Beach Moore Market complex towards Avadi, Pattabiram Military Siding and Tiruvallur from 00.01 hrs to 12.00 hrs on June 6. Similarly, 20 trains leaving Avadi, Pattabiram Military Siding and Tiruvallur towards Moore Market Complex / Beach have also been fully cancelled.

The website www.southernrailway.gov.in has details of trains leaving MMC/Beach towards Avadi, Pattabiram, Tiruvallur, Arakkonam and Tirutanni and in the return direction on fast lines.
