According to officials, 68,776 male and 70,357 female voters submitted Form 6 during the summary revision. While 9,692 applications from men were rejected, 4,698 applications received from women were not entertained.

Of the 708 form 7 (for deletion of names) applications received, 454 were considered.

A total of 3, 947 names were removed using de-duplication software which would help weed out the existence of the same voter’s name in two different parts / constituency or in the same part / constituency, non-availability in the address, shifting etc., sources added.

The voter list released by collector V.K. Shanmugam on Monday contained 16,87,626 male, 16,87,037 female and 174 others category voters.
