A 25-year-old technician from Manipur allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his house in Subramanyapura police station limits on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Lishwant Gojendra Singh. Police said that Singh had moved to the city a few years ago and was working as a technician in a studio Chikkalasandra. He was living in a rented house in an apartment near the studio.

“On Sunday morning, his neighbours found him dead in his house and alerted the police. He was found hanging in his room and we have sent the body for post mortem. Though the exact reason for the extreme step is not known, it is said that he was depressed after his girlfriend left him and thus ended his life. We have informed his family members and we will question them once they arrive,” the police said.

The Subramanyapura police have registered an unnatural death case in this connection.
