A teenager who had gone to party with his friend on New Year’s Eve was found dead on the railway track at Kammagondanahalli on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Ashraf Ali (18), a resident of Kammagondanahalli, left home with his friend Sadiq around 9 p.m. on Tuesday and reached M.G. Road. However, Ali then left for another place leaving Sadiq behind. While Sadiq returned home, Ali did not. He was later found dead on the railway tracks with injuries to the head and abdomen.

Gangammana Gudi police went to the spot, but the case was later transferred to Yeshwanthpur Railway police.

“We are not clear whether he was murdered or mowed down by a train,” a police officer from Yeshwanthpur railway station said.
