A 24-year-old youth, missing since Sunday, was found dead in suspicious circumstances near his house in Yelahanka here on Monday. Santosh, a diploma student, lived with his sister in Kogilu village.

The police said that he left home on Sunday morning to vote and did not return. His family tried to contact him but he was not reachable. After searching for him for a while, the relatives returned thinking he would be back the next day. However, the following day, passersby noticed a body lying near a school at Kogilu Cross and called the police. When the news spread, his family turned up to check and their worst fears came true. The Yelahanka police said that there was bleeding from Santosh’s nose and mouth. “We are yet to ascertain the cause of death. We’ll know only after the post-mortem,” the police said.

Enquiries revealed that Santosh was to be engaged soon. He had a girlfriend. The police are investigating.
