Fire

Goods worth Rs. 4 lakh were destroyed in a fire that broke out at an outlet of Champion Industries on Magadi Road near Anjan Theatre on Saturday morning. Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who received a call at 8.40 a.m., sent two fire tenders to the spot. Furnishing material stored in a small room on the first floor of the building caught fire. The room was also being used to store inflammable materials, including wood pieces, plywood sheets and other waste materials, said officials who added that an electric short circuit may have triggered the fire.

The firemen were able to save goods worth Rs. 2.75 lakh, officials added.
