The Garden Fair is on till November 20
Looking for a plant to brighten up that corner? Balcony? Someone's life? Here's your chance to do so.
The Garden Fair, organised by the Association of People with Disability (APD) to mark the culmination of its 10-month horticultural training programme for persons with disabilities, is on now.
The Garden Fair, into its 15th year, is usually the highlight of the annual programme, curated and presented by APD's Horticulture Training Unit.
This year's edition, inaugurated by David Marlborough, Chief Executive Officer, Northern Operating Services, has more than 400 varieties of garden plants, indoor and outdoor ornamental foliage plants, orchids, cacti and other succulents, and medicinal and culinary herbs.
Some 65 graduates of the Horticultural Training Programme, a residential course that has been offered here since 1985, worked hard on this fair. Speaking on the occasion, David Marlborough spoke of the company's initiatives in inclusiveness and lauded the “fantastic vision” of the organisation towards what he termed as “leveraging ability, rather than disability”.
Prices range from Rs. 10 to Rs. 1,000.
The fair will be on till November 20, between 9.30 a.m. and 6 p.m., at the APD Horticulture Training Programme in 10th Cross, Jeevanbima Nagar. Call 25288672/ 25475165.
