Youngest pair wins IIMB’s business plan competition

Team ‘Climber’ – the youngest participants at ‘Bzzwings 2015,’ Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru’s (IIMB) flagship business plan competition, emerged victorious on Saturday.

Sameer Ramesh and Mohammed Zeeshan, co-founders of ‘MYCAPTAIN’, an online youth mentoring platform for students to discover and pursue their passion, walked away with a prize money of Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 10 lakh in equity funding, along with an offer for incubation. Anirban Chatterjee and Samrat Biswas, co-founders of Finishing School for Engineers (Team FSE), were declared the runners-up and were awarded Rs. 20,000.

Anuupama Gangavati, Sachin Mahishi and Soumya Reddy, co-founders of Medcync — a chronic disease management platform that enables a new integrated model of care that involves both social communities and enhanced doctor-patient engagement, aimed to improve chronic disease management through digitising the process, also received Rs. 10 lakh in equity funding along with an offer for incubation at N.S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL).

Rigorous training given

Bzzwings was rolled out in July 2015 and received applications from budding entrepreneurs across India. Six finalists were chosen through a rigorous training process from over 220 entries from across India.

They were mentored extensively by NSRCEL over the past one-and-a-half months.
