A young woman found unconscious on the outskirts of Anekal town on April 24 died at Victoria Hospital here on Monday and it turns out that a suspect, a former boyfriend, has committed suicide. The police said that Ramya M.B. was working in a mobile phone service and retail shop in Peenya owned by Muniraju from Muttukatte village near Anekal. The two were briefly involved till Ramya decided to quit her job, ignoring Muniraju’s entreaties. According to the police, Ramya left home on April 24 after Muniraju persuaded her to come for a talk, though she told her family she was visiting her grandmother in Ramnagaram.

She was later found unconscious with multiple injuries by the roadside on the outskirts of Anekal town.

The police went through her bag and found a visiting card of the mobile phone store and when they went there, they found that it had shut down. They tracked down Muniraju’s address through the rental agreement and were shocked to find that he was dead.

Upon interrogating his parents, they found Muniraju had committed suicide and they had buried the body without informing the police.

“We sent two reminders to the Revenue Department requesting the Tahsildar’s presence to exhume the body for further procedure. Now that the election is over, we will try again,” Anekal police said.
