A 23-year-old homemaker, who was married recently, was found hanging at her residence at Maralakunte in Bagalur late on Saturday night.
Sneha was alone at home on Saturday evening. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling by her mother-in-law after she returned home.
Sneha had married Prakash about two months ago.
Sneha’s parents alleged foul play and blamed Prakash for the death. They alleged that Sneha was being harassed for more dowry.
The Bagalur police have registered a case of murder and dowry harassment based on the family’s allegations. They are awaiting the medical report to ascertain the cause of death.
The police have detained Prakash and his mother along with two others of the family for questioning.
