The Rangoli Metro Arts Centre of The Bangalore Metropolitan Rail Corporation Ltd, will organise a workshop on designing with bamboo at the art centre at M.G. Road Metro Station on Sunday, said a press release.

Called ‘Bamboo in design’, the workshop is the seventh edition of the Maker Weekend in which the Workbench Projects will collaborate with ‘Bamboopecker’.

The six-hour workshop will begin with an hour-long introduction and interactive discussion about bamboo. Registered participants will then work, with expert guidance, to create their own light fixtures and lampshades, including designing, making and polishing the creations.

The workshop will provide an opportunity for those interested in experimenting with bamboo as a material to create personalised objects.

All materials and tools needed for the workshop will be provided along with a working lunch.
