Worker killed after boulder falls on her at construction site

A construction worker identified as Manjamma (30) died at a construction site on Chunchughatta Main Road on Tuesday when a boulder fell on her head. The Subrahmanyapura police said a pit had been dug at the site where an apartment complex was being constructed. A large amount of debris was next to the pit. Manjamma was sitting near the debris and having lunch when the accident occurred.

Woman kills self

Rashmika V.K. (26) was found hanging from the ceiling of her house at Saraswathinagar in Mahadevapura on Monday. A native of Tamil Nadu, she had just returned from Madurai, and stayed back at home while her brother went to work on Monday. When he returned, she was found hanging. Mahadevapura police are investigating.

Deep in debt

A man identified as Anand (40) took his own life by hanging himself at his residence in Ganganagar on Tuesday. His wife reportedly told the police that Anand may have taken the extreme step as he was unable to repay loans.

Four held

The CCB arrested four persons said to be associates of rowdy JCB Narayana on charge of plotting to murder a businessman. The arrested are Venkatesh Murthy (28), Harish (28), Vijay Kumar (28) and Arun Kumar (25), all from Bangalore. The S.J. Park police have registered a case of murder against Vijay Kumar.
