The Ulsoor police have arrested a middle-aged woman and her son who allegedly tried to sell the prestigious Vydehi Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre for Rs. 2,000 crore to a Chennai-based businessman.
The police gave the names of the arrested as Vatsala and Arun Kumar. According to the police, these natives of Chennai created duplicate documents of the Vydehi group of Institutions a couple of months ago and allegedly tried to sell the properties. They had also planned to collect Rs. 500 share amount.
Suspecting foul play, the businessman visited the institution, where he met with the management.
Later, a case of cheating was filed at the Ulsoor police station. The police officials laid a trap and arrested the two. During the course of interrogation, it was revealed that Vatsala had forged signatures of Vydehi Institute's Managing Director Dr. Kalpana.
