Unable to bear continuous harassment and domestic violence, a 35-year-old domestic help killed her husband in Rajagopal Nagar on Thursday.

The deceased Vijay Kumar, a construction labourer and chronic alcoholic would beat his wife Malleshwari, everyday.

On Thursday, Vijay Kumar came home drunk and started beating Malleshwari. The neighbours pacified Vijay Kumar and separated him from Malleshwari. But he returned home late at night and started harassing her. Enraged, Malleshwari pushed Vijay Kumar to the ground and crushed his head with a boulder.

Later, she took their three children and escaped, the police said. The Rajagopal Nagar police, who have taken up a case of murder, are trying to track her down.

“We suspect that she might have escaped to her native Andhra Pradesh and efforts are on to nab her soon,” the police said.
