A woman allegedly strangled her one-and-half year old son before killing herself at her house in Poornaprajna Layout in Subramanyapura on Friday.
The bodies of Pratha, 28, and the child, were discovered by relatives who had come to visit them.
“The reason is yet to be ascertained. Pratha’s mother, who had come to police station to file a complaint, collapsed owing to chest pain and was hospitalised,” said a police officer. The family is being questioned and the post-mortem report is awaited.
Woman clubbed to death
A woman was bludgeoned to death by her brother-in-law over a trivial row in Nelamangala on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Padma, 40, a resident of Lakkasandra.
The police have arrested the accused, Gangaguddaiah, whom Padma lived with after the death of his brother five years ago. She used to cook and take care of household chores, the police said.
