Woman held in Bangalore for killing spouse twice her age

June 20, 2013 10:05 am | Updated 10:05 am IST - Bangalore:

Police arrested a woman on charge of murdering her husband with the help of a relative in Mahadevapura on June 6.

The police said Ratnamma (27) was the second wife of Muniswamy (56), a businessman. Muniswamy allegedly used to harass her, suspecting her fidelity, and few days before the murder, he deserted her, forcing her to go back to her maternal home in Kolar.

Police said Ratnamma allegedly sought the help of her brother, Manjunath, and cousin, Kumar, who along with three others hatched a plan to kill him. They accosted Muniswamy, who was returning from work, and hacked him to death in Mahadevapura.

Police claimed Ratnamma confessed to the murder under interrogation.
