May 20, 2013 08:21 am | Updated 08:21 am IST - Bangalore:

A 27-year-old woman was killed allegedly by her live-in partner in Peenya here on Saturday.

The police identified the woman as Latha, who was living in with taxi driver Thimmaraju.

The police said that Thimmaraju, who works for a private travel agency, could have murdered Latha on the suspicion that she was seeing someone.

Latha, a resident of Suvarna Nagar near Doddabidarikallu, was found dead by her neighbours after they noticed that the door of the house was open.

According to the police, 31-year-old Thimmaraju is a native of Tumkur.

He came to the city in search of work and somehow got acquainted with Latha who had lost her husband Ramesh, the police said.

Latha was working in a garment factory.

Thimmaraju and Latha had an affair and started living together, the police added.

The police said that Thimmaraju, who often worked late, used to find Latha missing from the house.

The police said that Latha often used to stay away for three or four days.

This lead Thimmaraju to suspect her fidelity, the police said and added that the couple used to have frequent fights over the matter.

The Peenya police have picked up Thimmaraju for questioning.
