Woman drowns in lake

A 20-year-old woman drowned in the Konasandra lake here on Sunday. She has been identified as Asma Taj (20) from Anchepalya. According to the police, Asma had gone to the lake along with her sister Saziya Taj (24) for a swim.

Passersby saw Saziya drowning and screaming for help. She was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital. Saziya told the police that she got into the water to save Asma from drowning.

The Talaghattapura police launched a search for Asma. He body was recovered later in the day.

Man electrocuted

A shepherd was electrocuted at a farm in Vasudevapura, Kaggalipura, on Sunday. He has been identified as Yogesh (24). The police said Yogesh stepped on a live wire that had snapped from an electric pole.

The Talaghattapura police have registered a case of death owing to negligence against the Bescom. Police sources said the wire had snapped following heavy rain on Saturday night.

Body found A body of a woman in her early twenties was found in a eucalyptus grove in Chikkabanahalli, Kadugodi, on Saturday.

The body was found by a security guard, Muniraju, who alerted the police.The Kadugodi police have registered a case of murder.
