Woman constable in Bangalore commits suicide

A 28-year-old woman police constable attached to Banasawadi Station allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at her residence in Kothanur on Sunday night.

The victim, identified as Dhanalakshmi, was married and had a nine-month-old child. Her husband is a security guard living in police quarters in Hegde Nagar in the city.

The police suspect family feud to be the reason behind her taking the extreme step.

Head constable dies

A 56-year-old head constable working as driver with the Central Crime Branch (CCB) died in a freak accident on Monday morning.

The constable, identified as Kemparaju, was returning home after finishing his duty when he tripped on the road and fell down. He suffering cardiac arrest and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Kemparaju was working as driver of an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Homicide and Burglary wing of the CCB.

The deceased leaves behind three sons.
