Woman and boyfriend held in auto driver murder

Northeast Division police have arrested the wife of an autorickshaw driver and her boyfriend in connection with the driver’s murder last weekend in Yelahanka New Town here.

The victim, Mahesh, was found with his throat slit and the body propped up in his vehicle.

The arrested are Vijayalakshmi alias Shwetha (26) and Ravi (28).

On Friday night, Mahesh had an argument with his wife. The police said that later that night, Ravi slit his throat with a knife as Vijayalakshmi held him down.

On Saturday, Ravi had tried to dispose of the body in Mahesh’s auto but had to abandon the auto after it ran out of fuel.

The police said the two had confessed to the murder.
