While the Parappana Agrahara Central prison is mired in controversies, family members are not easily getting permission to meet the inmates. A woman from Hebbal had to wait for hours to get permission to meet her husband, who is in the jail since Friday, to inform him about the death of his father.

This is due to the expected visit of special team to probe into irregularities in the prisons department.

Aruna said that her husband, Rajanna, was arrested on Friday on the charges of assault. His aged father died after prolonged illness on Saturday night. Aruna came to the prison early Sunday morning and pleaded with the prison staff to either allow her to meet Rajanna or convey the message. They made her wait till afternoon and finally gave permission.
