Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said the government would not be found lagging in providing infrastructure for the growth of the information technology and biotechnology sectors.

After inaugurating CeBIT India and Bangalore ITE.biz 2014 here, Mr. Siddaramaiah said, “We will do all that is necessary for the IT sector to flourish.”

His statement comes at a time when Bengaluru-based Infosys decided to move out of an IT park in Devanahalli citing lack of infrastructure.

“The spectacular IT growth story of India is led by Karnataka, thanks to the availability of highly skilled professionals, dynamic entrepreneurs, a vibrant ecosystem, and industry-friendly policies of the State. Karnataka is contributing over 30 per cent of IT exports of the country, he added.

Minister for Science and Technology, IT and Biotechnology S.R. Patil said the IT industry would face no bandh or Satyagraha in the State.

The three-day expo has brought Indian and global brands and technologies on a single platform for the first time to showcase innovations and products.
