Water supply to be hit

June 23, 2014 12:47 am | Updated 12:47 am IST - BANGALORE:

Following a transformer blast at Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board’s (BWSSB) Harohalli pumping station on Saturday, water supply to the core areas will be hit for the second day on Monday.

A senior BWSSB official said pumping from Cauvery I, II and III stages had stopped completely on Saturday due to which water supply had been affected in Jayanagar, Basavangudi, Chamarajpet, Padmanabhanagar, Hebbal, Malleswaram, Pulakeshinagar, Sarvagnanagar and surrounding areas.

Although repair work has been taken up, pumping is likely to be restored only by Monday morning because of which supply will be hit on Monday too. Normal supply will resume on Tuesday.
