An indefinite dharna demanding permanent irrigation project for the arid region entered the 25th day on Wednesday.

Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) and Hasiru Sene activists participated in the stir on Wednesday, supporting this demand.

KRRS state vice president K. Narayanagowda urged the government to accord priority to implement G.S. Paramashivaiah Report to solve the water problem of Central Karnataka districts, including Kolar, Chickballapur, Tumakuru and Bengaluru Rural.

Representatives of various organisations are taking part on a rotation basis in the dharana since it was launched on June 12. A number of actors, directors and other film personalities from Sandalwood participated in a huge rally held on June 12th in town. Actor Shivarajkumar inaugurated a permanent platform of Shashwatha Neeravari Horata Samiti, near Sarvajna Park, during the rally.
