Water Inspector of BWSSB arrested for accepting bribe

The Lokayukta sleuths on Wednesday trapped a water Inspector of HSR Layout sub division red handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.

The accused H. M. Krishnamurthy was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act and remanded to judicial custody. According to the police, Krishnamurthy had demanded Rs 6,000 to issue water meter to Irshad Ahmed, a resident of HSR Layout, who had applied for a new water connection. Krishnamurthy had taken Rs 1,000 as advance and wad demanding Rs 5,000 to handover the water meter.

Agitated by this, Irshad Ahmed filed a complaint with the Lokayukta based on which Krishnamurthy was trapped.
