Waste disposal: Fine on SBM, restaurants

State Bank of Mysore and Adigas restaurant were among the better-known outlets to be penalised by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Thursday for improper disposal of waste.

While the bank was told to pay a fine of Rs. 10,000 for letting garbage pile up outside its premises, the restaurant had to pay the same amount for not lacking cleanliness. BBMP Administrator T.M. Vijay Bhaskar also levied penalties on Arya Bhavan Sweets, Kanti Sweets, Anand Bhavan and City Centre for dumping garbage on the road.
