Three persons were injured when the compound wall of a fuel station on Kanteerava Studio road in Mahalakshmi Layout collapsed on Thursday.
They are Rasool (26) and Chandrashekhar (46), both employees of the Raviteja petrol station, and R.V. Vijay Aras (36), a customer who was there to fill petrol in his motorbike.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that a lot of debris had been piled up against the other side of the wall, on an empty piece of land, owing to which the wall collapsed onto one of the petrol pumps and the air-filling station. RMC Yard police suspect that the debris, along with the recent rain, led to the collapse.
Employees of the fuel station told the police that there were working when the wall collapsed, trapping three persons underneath. They said they rushed to the rescue and pulled them out.
Rasool, who was at the air-filling station, sustained a fracture as an electric pole also fell with the wall. He has been admitted to Hosmat for treatment of his injured foot.
Vijay and Chandrashekhar, who suffered minor injuries, were treated at a private hospital and discharged.
The compound wall was reportedly constructed in the late ’90s.
