Walkers complain of pollution

May 18, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:31 am IST - Bengaluru:

The Cubbon Park Walkers’ Association is up in arms against various institutions, including Century Club, the tennis association and YMCA, for polluting the serene environs of the park with plastic, cigarettes and traffic. The association has lodged a complaint with the KSPCB seeking immediate intervention and ensuring a ban on vehicular traffic inside the park.

In the complaint, the association has termed these buildings ‘encroachments’ and alleged that most of these associations hold events late in the evening, causing noise pollution and adversely affecting birds in the park.
