Sending out a strong message that walking is one of the easiest exercises to stay fit, members of the Bangalore Physiotherapists Network held a walkathon here on Sunday to mark World Physiotherapy Day.

A large number of physiotherapists participated in the walkathon and group exercise aimed at raising awareness about the importance of doing exercises to stay fit.

“Physiotherapists play a crucial role in helping people take preventive measures,” according to the president of the Bangalore Physiotherapists Network Nandan Kumar. The theme for World Physiotherapy Day this time is ‘Movement for Health’.

However, while passing through Kasturba Road some participants rushed three people to a hospital after they were injured when an autorickshaw hit a bus.
