Miscreants made a futile attempt to break an ATM machine of Corporation Bank in HSR Layout. The incident came to light on on Friday night.
A gang of miscreants tried to break the ATM the using a crowbar. The security guard, Shamsul, tried to resist the robbery bid.
However the robbers managed to flee after assaulting him, police said. Shamsul is presently being treated at a private hospital.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) T D Pawar, said that the condition of the security guard was stable and the doctors had declared him out of danger.
